Electrical Engineering

The Electrical Engineering Department was established in the year 1997-98. The department has a team of qualified and experienced faculty and support staff. They strive to create new and innovative ways to enhance the quality of education and training being offered. Identification of course content beyond the university syllabus is done to encourage student-teacher team in updating their knowledge. Seminars/conferences are held from time to time to keep the faculty and students abreast with latest developments in the field of Engineering and Technology. The laboratories have the best of equipments and machineries as per PTU curriculum.

The students are exposed to industrial environment through visits.Project work by student-teacher teams are chosen so as to ensure that the students are engaged in real life and real life like projects. Supervised industrial training of students of short term and long term duration forms an integral part of curriculum. Students are encouraged to take part in Technical Seminars, Extension Lectures, Workshops, Technical Quiz, and Group Discussion etc during each semester of their study. Emphasis is laid on quality teaching for which regular faculty development programs are organized. Faculty Appraisal and Student Feedback are two quality checks that are in each semester of studies.Electrical Engineering, being a mother branch of Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, offers a wide scope of job opportunities. It encompasses the way electrical energy is produced and used in homes, by the community and industry. The students are placed in top companies like Infosys, Accenture, Syntel, TCS, Microsoft, State Electricity Boards etc.
